have been working in the addiction and mental health field for 22 years. I am currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and certified as an Addictions Professional and a Criminal Justice Addiction's Specialist. I also have a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology. I have been awarded the Professional of the Year Award in 2001 by the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association. I have worked with the VA hospital, in detox centers, as the Assistant Director of Outpatient Addiction Services for a large hospital, with the Manatee County Drug Court, as a Substance Abuse Specialist for a mental health hospital, and with the Michael Bach Health Center working with gay and lesbian clients.
