I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist that specializes in addictions, mental health, and criminal behavior. I use a multi-dimensional assessment approach to provide a basis for applying different treatment modalities to different types and patterns of addictions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been proven to be effective in the intervention and treatment of addiction disorders, mental health treatment, and criminal conduct. I am a member of the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists.
Inner-child work and relapse prevention are essential components of treatment. You must recognize your personal triggers of relapse and develop effective coping skills to prevent a return of your illness and behavior. You will learn to identify negative thought patterns and resolve family of origin issues that keep you stuck in your addictive and criminal behaviors. I use a combination of 12-step, Zen teachings, and inner-child work to create a healthy foundation for your own philosophy of life congruent with recovery.
I have personally struggled with addictions until 1988. I can understand, without judgment, what it is like to be an addict. I was incapable of getting clean, until I was hospitalized for 6 weeks on an AIDS unit with a staph infection and thrombosis. It was the message of people dying of their disease that gave me my will to live. I have since dedicated my life to helping other people face and destroy their demons before they destroy you.
